LA VAGUE

Sometimes I enjoy finding myself entrapped in the beauty of someone else’s something. The past few months it’s been Matisse’s work. Namely ‘La Vague’. Aside from the fact that you can’t help but be mad at him, I mean he made a career by sticking paper… You can’t help but find yourself lost in the meaning behind his work. I just love the serigraph, #ugh.

The main lesson to learn from the most inspiring people of the world is that it’s not enough to have an idea, to feel something, to like something, to want something, execution is key.

You may see me dragging my faux leather tote around like it’s a dog on a leash, but when I say I love this bag, I love it.

Obviously inspired by one of the greatest brands in the world (I’m biased), this tote was the product of a couple hours behind my machine. I always thought, I could make a tote bag but that’s a weightless statement until it’s actually made. The straps need fray block or maybe need to be made thinner and hemmed and I would probably add a few pockets to add to the functionality of this super epic bag (I’m biased).

Following up from my tweet to @andotherstories, here’s what’s in the bag!
This was one piece from the haul of stuff I got from &OtherStories. This particular knit was in the sale but in case you missed my Céline-lustlist-rant, I am in love with these lines and it’s navy blue - #tickingboxes.

My pants were my creation. It’s always a proud mom moment when people ask you where your pants are from at work… I will totally be taking orders for them - it’s only fair seeing as this fabric is epic, the design is epic and you won’t find this style anywhere: trust me, I searched.

Now you too, go forth and create.

PASTEL SEXY

In my artsy days, I loved working with colour pastels. It was so easy to blend colours and create images in seconds - not literally, that shit took time. They were like the step-up from colouring pencils, but they were the step-up, adding texture to images was a breeze: I can't tell you how many flowers I coloured. But then there was the irritating smudge... Your hand is resting in that area with blue blended into dark green, you move your hand upwards and suddenly the area where the pink and the white and turquoise is, is ruined. Fuck you pastels: I know it was my fault, but still, fuck you... No, I still haven't learnt my lesson.

There has always been something alluring about pastel colours. Something demure and understated that was also distinctly noticeable and always evoked a similar sort of feeling. And now it's everywhere, so we'll discuss.

Ingvild Abrahamsen

I spent a few hours gawping at this design, probably because it ticked all the fabric lustlist boxes that made me enter my computer screen and feeeel this beauty. This is the kind of grown up use of pastels that is so big-kid friendly that little-kids have to love it too. We're presented with an emphatically homme friendly silhouette in beige tones and powder blue. Don't forget the dolphins giving the black a dose of life and reminding me that I still haven't swam with dolphins... I was actually spurred to write this post by an email from ASOS about the Ariel Sweatshirt, isn't it darling...

This is the part where I explain to you how much more I love menswear because no matter how boring or basic or exciting it is, it will always have the air of the revolutionary, men and fashion? Computer says no. I'm talking shit now.

Shaun Samson

I really liked the Shaun Samson swag. I imagined a hoodlum rolling around in pink and I realised this must all be the influence of Cam'ron. The organza and glitter suggests a delicateness that's juxtaposed by the tailored shapes, I mean these are essentially super fancy dress shirts. (Speaking of glitter, my RihRih rant is on my Tumblr, it comes from a good place in my heart.)

EZE ART

“somewhere between psychotic and iconic”

Beyond the beauty of the nature is the humans who have crafted their life around the natural formation of their landscape: such as 400 steps being a part of a casual commute.

In the Eze village, was a series of galleries, the most captivating of which featured art by Lysand. A series of pieces hung around a wooden beautifully lit cave-like space. My fave piece, was a contrast to the pretty vibrance of Monaco and was a little boy with dreads that made me think of Wang sandals.
